The young vet was in bed when the phone rang:
"You've got to something at once." The woman shouted down the phone at him. "My two dogs are tied together in the living room"
"Oh, that's easy" said the young vet. "Throw a bucket of cold water over them!"
"I've tried that already. It didn't work. You must come out at once!"
"Well why not try hitting them with a rolled up newspaper?"
"I've tried that too" Shouted the woman, angry now. "and I've shouted 'squirrels' and I've tried spraying them with lemon scent. You must do something. NOW!"
"Well if you've tried all that" said the vet "then give me your number, put the phone down on the floor by the dogs and I'll call them right back."
"So what makes you thing that's going to stop them?" she shouted.
"Well....it worked at this end.."
