E-VeT maintains several email discussion groups hosted at http://groups.yahoo.com. The public access list is http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/aske-vet/ where members of the public may post queries. Please note that this is not a diagnostic service. Sick animals require the examination and hands-on care of an attending veterinary surgeon. AskE-VeT will try and help with the understanding of syndromes and attempt further explanations or clarifications of patient conditions and may make suggestions for further discussion with the attending veterinary surgeon. Replies to posted queries are dealt with as time and other work pressures allow. Replies are usually prompt but must not be relied on under any circumstance .. and certainly not in emergency situations. Veterinary surgeons are bound by regional laws and ethical considerations. We will not provide dose recommendations or assist in the home treatment of patients without an attending veterinary surgeon who must agree and approve any suggestions that might be made. Before posting a message at AskE-VeT we strongly recommend you search the archives there - the question may well have been asked before!
